Foreword

The Charles Correa Memorial Lecture in Kolkata will be an excellent forum for architects to speak to the citizens of the city on issues that are seminal to Architecture, Housing and Urbanisation, all of which were central to Correa’s work and his contributions to the architecture of post-independent India. The Charles Correa Foundation will support the effort by trying to identify speakers, as well as partner with the group of architects in Kolkata to see the continuing success of this series over the coming years.

We do hope the annual lectures are archived, as part from being particularly relevant today, they will also be an important resource for people to be able to access in the future.
