Announcement

Legacy. Identity. The Sublime.
Each year, Kolkata gathers in quiet anticipation — to reflect on the life, work, and enduring ideas of Charles Correa — a master architect who redefined the way we think about space, climate, and the human condition within the built environment.
The Annual Charles Correa Memorial Lecture is not merely a remembrance. It is a moment to return to his values — of placing the “individual at the centre of his environment”, of building with climate and context, and of imagining architecture as an instrument of both empathy and excellence. Over the years, it has become a space where the architecture fraternity, designers, thinkers, students, and all those invested in the future of our built environment come together in shared reflection.
In 2026, for the 9th edition of the Annual Charles Correa Memorial Lecture, we are honoured to welcome a voice whose work resonates with these very concerns:

MARLON BLACKWELL
(AIA Gold Medalist | Marlon Blackwell Architects)

Widely recognised for an architecture that is at once deeply anchored in its context and universally evocative, Blackwell’s practice reflects a sustained engagement with material, landscape, and the poetic potential of form. With over 200 design awards, his work continues to explore what it means to build with sensitivity, rigour, and a sense of the sublime.
We warmly invite the architectural community of Kolkata and beyond to join us for this evening of dialogue, learning, and homage to Charles Correa.

Date: 26th June, Friday, 2026
Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Venue: Royal Bengal Room, City Centre Salt Lake

Because in the end, the spaces we build are only as meaningful as the lives they hold.
